Excellent dinner. The restaurant was recommended by a coworker and she steered us right. My son had the spaghetti and meatballs special for $ 9.95 which included a salad. My husband had the manicotti which he reported was very good. And my son and I shared the Stromboli Dawn our server could not have been better. Yummy

Best dinner experience I have ever had! Not only was food, service and staff amazing. I was able to look around at my party of 7 (my family) and see each and everyone of them enjoy themselves thoroughly. This is the Original Valentino's. This is the location you must go to. Will always make a stop here whenever in Myrtle! Thank you for such a wonderful dinner and atmosphere

Great Italian right in Surfside Beach! Greeted with a hug, left with a hug and a kiss! Donna, our server was excellent. We go here every time we come to the beach and have never had bad service or food! Hubby got a seafood special, picture posted. Yummy! I had fettuccini alfredo-mmmm. Everything is homemade, need I say more? Enjoy!

A Nice little Italian resturant I had the Veal Parm and it was great. My friend had Shrimp Scampi and was also delisious , just a little too much garlic on the scampi.. Ended up taking left overs home for the next day. Our waitress Jackie Q. was great, she was really knowledgeable about the entrees and friendly.

Very good Italian restaurant in Myrtle Beach area. The bread is baked fresh throughout the night and comes out warm with flavored butter. It was really good. The house dressing was pretty good and you can choose from two of them. For my entree I had the seafood pasta. It had a ton of seafood on it which was also cooked perfectly. The wine sauce was good but I think I would have liked it with a red sauce. I would eat here again.

Family was starving after a long day of fun in MB. We wanted Italian and Valentinos II took great care of us. Everything is made fresh daily from salad dressings to their sauces. Portions are huge and very reasonable.

What a pleasant evening we spent dining at Valentino's II last Sunday evening. We ended up there because our friends had a Restraurant.com coupon and we are so glad we did. We began with fresh salads with homemade dressings. Sunday night is "half price pizza's' so we shared a margharita pizza as an appetizer. Delish! Our friends split lasagna and I stole a bite. Tender and tasty. We shared a special of steak and shrimp. Tender, tasty. Great. Brooke was our server and what a sweetie she is. Prompt. Friendly, attentive. There is nothing "chain" about this place. Check it out.

We tried this restaurant after reading the Yelp reviews. Our server was new and made a few faux pas with regard to conversation. She seemed put off when my husband asked if she was from Germany. Very cool toward us after that (also it appeared that some off the owner's family came in and service was very slow after). I ordered the Grouper and was very disappointed. It came with a side of pasta and marinara which did not fit with the sweetness of the pecan crust and Hazelnut sauce on the fish. The fish portion was a large ball of fish that was very bland. This dish needs veggies or something. Perhaps a better quality of filet. I'd had Grouper in the past and it was a nice flaky white filet...not this one. My husband had the Sausage and Peppers which had great flavor but the sausage was very mushy. I thought my twins' Chicken Parm was VERY good but they felt it was pretty generic. Even though the owner seems very gracious and visits each table, I think we'll be trying Villa Romano on our next trip.

Me and my wife had dinner here last night. The minestrone soup was excellent, the salad was fresh and crisp served on a cold plate delicious! I had eggplant parm with meatballs and pasta, my wife had the Parmigiana Trio all was cooked to perfection. The service was prompt and friendly. I felt like I was back home in Boston's Northend. I will be sure to come back.

Can I rate this any lower? Came with my husband and son after church on a Saturday night. The place was crowded with one couple in line in front of us. It only took a few minutes to be seated but the hostess said that the food may come out a little slowly since they were busier than usual. That I can understand but we sat there for 20 minutes and NO ONE came to our table. Three different waitresses walked by us and nothing. The hostess who seated us ten minutes earlier bussed the booth next to us and NOTHING. We'd had enough when I noticed the couple that had been seated just before us were eating bread and drinking wine and having their dinners served to them. We put on our coats and left. I never felt so invisible in my life! We're seasonal residents of Surfside Beach and we won't set foot in there again.

This place was a wonderful surprise!! Authentic Italian cuisine near Myrtle Beach. The portions were huge - even the calamari appetizer was enough to feed the whole table of 6 of us. Excellent service, family friendly. Great desserts too!! We will be back.

While on vacation near Myrtle Beach, SC my wife and I took advantage of traveling with her family to escape without our year and a half old son for a nice dinner. We haven't had much success with babysitters back home, so this date night was long overdue. We were staying between Garden City and Surfside Beach, and decided to ride a couple of bikes up to Surfside to see what we could find. The only requirement was that there had to be non-fried fish on the menu for my wife. After a couple of strikeouts with beachfront restaurants, we headed inland a bit to Valentino's II. This menu at this Italian restaurant easily pleased both of us. I'm not a big fan of seafood, but I do love Italian food and they offered most of the classic dishes. In addition there is a large selection of seafood even a couple of steaks to round out the menu. All dinners come with a house salad and homemade warm bread with signature garlic butter. While I found the bread and butter to be fairly common and what you would expect, the house salad was large and fresh. Their vinaigrette dressing was incredible, easily one of the best I've ever had. It had an added tartness to it that I've never experienced before. All dinners are prepared fresh and cooked to order, but we didn't experience a terribly long wait between our salad and main courses. During the downtime my wife sipped on a glass of sangria, while I enjoyed a cold draft beer. I should have went with wine after seeing the typical beer offerings, but I wasn't in the mood. My wife on the other hand loved the white sangria, which was made with pinot grigio. For dinner I went with the chicken parmigiana (16.95), which also came with a choice of pasta on the side, my choice was penne. The serving size was very large, two breaded chicken breasts served on top of the penne with tons of marinara and plenty of cheese to go with it. I was very happy with dish and somehow managed to eat nearly every last bite. I could have easily taken some home with me for lunch the next day, but we were on bikes and didn't want to deal with that potential mess. My wife ordered one of the daily specials - the grouper Florentine ($23.95). Again this was served with a choice of pasta (she decided on angel hair) and rather than adding marinara to it just decided to have more of the Florentine sauce served with it. Again the piece of meat was large and though I didn't have a bite of the dish, I'm told it too was very good. Our service was very attentive and extra friendly. I would easily return for dinner in the future. Note that the restaurant is not open for lunch and hours are 4-10pm every day. Even though we didn't bring our son, they are kid friendly, so perhaps we will bring him along if we are ever back in the area. I think it would be hard to find a better Italian restaurant in south Myrtle Beach.

We dined here 2 nights ago and again tonight. The food was fresh, well prepared and excellent. Both nights were very busy and all the staff seem to pitch in and help each other. The hostess was very nice and took the time to speak to and spend a little time with each table and our waitress was charming. They have specials most nights. Tonight the special was Haddock for $ 9.99 that included soup or salad. It was GREAT. I highly recommend !

We were a party of 12 with reservations. When we arrived, we were the only patrons. The poor waitress serving us was sweet, polite but clearly over her head in providing adequate service to our table. She did not know the menu well enough and the food preparation well enough to provide much more than rudimentary service. My friend and I shared a chicken Marsala dish that we asked be served over pasta so that the wonderful Marsala sauce could be fully enjoyed. This was a lengthy conversation so there should have been no confusion as to our wishes. When the chicken Marsala arrived, it was on a plate with no pasta. Several minutes later, my friend and I were served a side of pasta with Marinara sauce. We were told that she couldn't give us the chicken Marsala over pasta because we were sharing a dish. I don't care for Marinara sauce so this defeated the purpose of ordering what I did. Very disappointing! The bus boy hovered throughout our meal carrying his large pan of dirty dishes. He, too, seemed to have been hired and not given enough training to know not to "bus" the table until we were finished. All in all a very disappointing dining experience. Our waitress did get our bill correct as long as we could find which bill belonged to which patron.

My wife and I were vacationing from Atlanta, visiting my parents in Surfside Beach and wanted Italian to PICK UP and eat at our rental. They recommended Valentino's. When I Google Mapped it, this restaurant came up along with it and decided to go there instead because it was directly on our way back to our rental and assumed it was the same owners/management. We found out later that this restaurant used to be called Cecil's, but was advised they needed to change their name to something more Italian so the owner decided to rip off the original Valentino's down the street and name his Valentino's II. What a douchebag!! Thing is, the food is pretty good if they could get their sh*t together. I ordered cappellini with marinara and Italian sausage. Tasted good except that my order came with about 1/2 pound of pasta and about 2 ounces of sauce. I was a bit ticked off by that because, although I understand true Italian is more about the pasta, the sauce was barely enough to flavor the amount of pasta I was given. For my wife, I requested they make a special order, which they obliged. She wanted a linguini with chicken and a picatta type sauce. They gave her spaghetti instead, but she said that it was delicious. Had we been eating at the restaurant, I could have easily corrected both issues, however, this was a pick up order and we did not discover either issue until we got home. All in all, I will have to say the food was of good quality, but considering their errors on both dishes and the fact the owner has to rip off the name of his competition in order to drive traffic and not based solely on his own reputation, I will pass on returning and will next time try the original and authentic Valentino's just down the street....

Sit down Italian restaurant that claim as to be "family" oriented. We ended up going on a Friday night over the 4th of July weekend. It was busy, but we found a seat very quickly on the covered patio. We ended up moving because the air conditioning Ben was aimed right at us. Brrrrrr! Seriously it was like 50 degrees under that thing. Pros: excellent home made Italian food. Clam chowder was good. Cons: clam chowder leaked clams! I had two small pieces... I think? The prices are fine, but my portion of veal francaise was rather small for the cost. My children got the spaghetti and meatball (big portion) and ravioli (lacking some... She was done in a matter of minutes). My wife and sun enjoyed small pizzas that were quite enjoyable and I had a very tasty veal francaise. The live music was an added bonus! The waitress was going to take my family to meet the chef, but it was a little busy. She took us for free ice cream instead! Cons: a bit on the pricier side for such a place. The sangria was good, but tops small and pricy for the product.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
